AIOU Plantation Drive From 27th


Islamabad:Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will hold 3-day nation-wide tree plantation campaign from Thursday 27 February to assist the government, making the country pollution-free.
The tree plantation campaign will be take place in cooperation with CDA, Pakistan Red Crescent Society and Federal and Local Government departments.
Under the arrangements, millions of students, tutors, faculty members and employees of the University will plant saplings of different trees around the country through active support of its regional campuses. Business Community, Civil Society and NGO will also be invited to participate and support in this national noble cause.
Vice-Chancellor, AIOU Prof. Dr. Nazir Ahmed Sangi urged the students to actively participate in the campaign to clean the society free from pollution.
AIOU’ campuses across the country will hold special events about tree-plantation campaign so as maximum students/people may be involved in the plantation drive.
To raise awareness about importance of trees and conservation of environment, the AIOU will also organized walk, seminars and various events at different parts of the country.
Under the awareness campaign, he said posters, banners will also be displayed at various major parts of the country.
Meanwhile, admissions for the Semester Spring 2014 from SSC to Master level programmes in various disciplines are continued. Last date for submission the admission forms is 5th March.
Prospectus and admission forms for Spring, 2014 Semester can be obtained from the sale points of University’s main campus in Sector H-8, Islamabad and country-wide Regional Campuses and Coordinating Offices.
The admission forms along-with prescribed fee can be submitted in countrywide branches of Bank Al-Falah, Habib Bank Ltd, First Women Bank and Allied Bank and in the nominated branches of National Bank of Pakistan and Muslim Commercial Bank.
After completion of the admission process, tree plantation awareness pamphlets will be sent along the books to all the enrolled students.
