AIOU Establishes Tele Information Centres


Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has established ‘Tele-Information Centres’ at thirty different places around the country on immediate basis to facilitate its students for providing information relating to admissions, workshops, assignments, exams and their results.
AIOU Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Nazir Ahmed Sangi has said altogether 300 such centres will be established by the end of this year to ensure availability of academic facilities for their students at their nearest places. Necessary process to the effect has already been started. These centres are being equipped with computers, tele-printers and scanners so that students could use them for doing their academic work.
These centres will be electronically linked with the University’s main campuses to help the students to acquire relevant knowledge/information through video-conferencing and e-learning system. This arrangement will mainly facilitate those students who will live in the country’s remote regions.
Dr. Sangi further said that the work on induction of new technology in the University’s educational system has also been done rapidly.The news.
